Personally, I wasn't aware of any other journals that specifically invited an ECR to be part of the peer-review process for each manuscript submission. Am I missing something here?

Perhaps it isn't obvious from the outside but ECRs are already the workhorses of peer review. It's like the London Fire Brigade announcing that henceforth all fire engines shall be red.

Right. I had 8 requests this month, with 4 currently open on my desk. Have done 50+ in three years as a grad student.
