  1. Black people in the US know a history all too well where juries set white men free who took justice, and the lives of other Black people, into their own hands. Today’s Arbery trial verdict helps to write a new and more just chapter in the history of race in the US for all.

  2. The Arbery verdict speaks volumes not just in honor of Arbery’s life, but it speaks to the value of ALL Black Lives and whether the US justice system will be one that recognizes and honors that value.

  3. The jury in the Ahmaud Arbery trial stood up for human rights and justice today in finding the defendants guilty of murder. Assumptions based on race and class cannot be allowed to serve as a just rationale for the taking of a life either by law enforcement or individuals.

    Susan Rice reportedly blocked detained asylum seekers and migrants from receiving Covid-19 vaccinations. The justification? Deterrence. It's the same justification the US has used for policies that have led to thousands of deaths along the border. 1/
