It always baffles me that they think ANYONE wants ANY kind of interaction in a public restroom.
Like, fr, when’s the last time you pooped and then could even look another person in the eye?
Terrible news. Utah looks like it is only a formality vote and governors signature away from banning gender affirming care for trans youth. Liability provisions may also end a lot of care for trans adults.
If so they will be the first state of 2023 to ban care.
SB0016 - Trans Healthcare with sub 4 adopted has passed. This is a de facto ban. It now has no sunset date and the malpractice and consent language will keep doctors from wanting to give needed care. /1
In 2022, state legislatures worked overtime to pass bills aimed at harming our community, specifically targeting transgender kids.
Despite the majority of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation failing, the 29 bills that were signed into law are having devastating effects on families.
They're just outright admitting it on the record to the NYT that the focus on trans youth were just a pretext to eventually ban all gender affirming care. They never cared about children.
We told you so.

“Only the beginning!”
Nicole Maines has big dreams for Dreamer. As she discussed on our latest episode, LAZARUS PLANET is her chance to show what a gift the character is to the world & its readers.
JK seems incapable of having a nuanced take beyond “I want MY personal exclusionary definition of womanhood to be enforced and anyone who thinks otherwise is eroding my rights.” Equality is not a pizza, you don’t lose slices when someone else is invited to the table to eat.
Men defining what a woman is, what women should and shouldn’t fear, what women should and shouldn’t say, what rights women should be fine with giving up and, of course, what constitutes ‘real’ misogyny: get a bloody mirror. That’s real misogyny, looking right back at you.
"Would this ban pride? Probably."
Arkansas SB43 has passed the Senate 29-6.
It would ban "drag" but also defines drag as any transgender person performing.
Even dancing at Pride may be considered illegal under this bill.

I was supposed to wish everyone a happy Lunar New Year today. Instead my community is mourning the death of 10 people from a mass shooting. I love MP. I’m so saddened. When will our government do something about guns. I don’t give a shit about your thoughts and prayers
On a day when the AAPI community should be gathering to celebrate Lunar New Year, we once again find ourselves grieving. On Saturday night in Monterey Park, California, a gunman opened fire at a dance studio following a Lunar New Year celebration. (1/4)
In 2023, let’s stop acting like transphobia is in any way acceptable or tolerable.
Some of you have been easily turning a blind eye and letting it slide and it needs to stop.
Transphobia isn’t “less bad” than any other form of bigotry. Time we finally cracked down on it.
Just heard the horrifying news out of Monterey Park, CA. A whole community wracked by gun violence and death, on what should have been a joyous Lunar New Year celebration.
No motive is yet known. But we must act to end the ability of murderers to take so many lives so brutally.
Madness.
A bill has dropped in North Dakota that bans "accommodations for students identifying as animals," a rehash of the infamous litterbox hoax.
It is being cited to also ban trans students from UNISEX restrooms.

has been massively contributing to anti-trans narratives and it’s frankly appalling.
Trans people are experiencing a very real fight for our freedom and liberty in America and the world at large and shit like this makes it so much harder.
How many anti-trans stories is the New York Times going to run?
They'll do a million stories of some rando doctors saying puberty blockers are bad, but none about the 98% of trans kids who will be forced to medically detransition or threatened to be taken from their parents.
What if instead of continuing to fuel a moral panic that’s led to more than 150 pieces of anti-lgbtq legislation being filed in 2023, the New York Times considered doing one (1) story about the still tragically common scenario of a trans kid getting bullied at school?

Like its absolutely clear where the ideological slant for the NYT is. There are over 200 bills targeting the trans community, and they're not reporting on it.
Instead they're pouring fuel on the fire and releasing pieces to support those who would seek to harm us.
A mass shooting like this is not the result of “bad luck.” It is the heartbreaking consequence of bad decisions of a government and society that considers people last. It’s a grave consequence for the woeful inaction against America’s obsessive problem with guns and racism.
I don’t know the motive for the #MontereyPark mass shooting but 2 things seem clear:
1) The person intended to target AsAms. The person may be, himself, AsAm, but he intended to kill AsAms
2) Wouldn’t happen if he didn’t have access to a semi-automatic weapon and ammo
“I did it. Sorry Voice, we did it.”
In our latest episode, Nicole Maines tells us why it’s so important for her to be caretaker of Dreamer in the DC Comics space & why Lazarus Planet is so critical for Dreamer’s growth as a character & a creation.
This is the same bill where Utah senators EXCLUDED cis breast implants from the bill on a vote. They only care about targeting trans kids, not cis ones.
Sad. All Utah trans bills heard yesterday just passed their senate. This would be a gender affirming care ban, a birth certificate ban under 18, and a forced outing bill.
They will move to the Utah house.
Hey, kids! It's your old buddy Steve King telling you that if they ban a book in your school, haul your ass to the nearest bookstore or library ASAP and find out what they don't want you to read.
We're barely halfway through January and more anti-trans laws have been proposed than in all of 2022. We're tracking at least 158 introduced bills so far. This is more than 2018-2020 combined. This is what a movement to eradicate trans people from public life looks like.
We need to put a stop to this new evil practice of trying to criminalize people’s existence.
Transgender people are not dangerous.
Drag performers are not dangerous.
The Republicans abusing their power to pen these bills ARE dangerous.
This is bad.
A new anti-trans bill in West Virginia would ban "transgender exposure to minors" as "obscene matter."
It would add to a law with a 5 year prison term, and to ALL laws around minors in WV.
It must not pass.

Everyone! Tomorrow at 2:00 PM, Utah will be hearing THREE anti-trans bills. One is a healthcare ban (sb16), one is a forced outing/misgendering bill (sb100), and one is a ban on birth certificate changes under 18 (sb93).
Go and testify!
It says "Electronic participation avail"
