You forgot: c) Lonely men who realize that loneliness is a human experience, more universal than unique and often better than the toxic relationships they're pressured into. Man up. Ovary up. Fuzzy unicorn up, whatever, there's nothing wrong with being lonely.https://twitter.com/turtlekiosk/status/990464023614427136 …

Would you say the same to individuals who suffer from depression? Panic attacks? These socially ostracized people have already been told to “toughen up.” Resentment and calcification is the demonstrated result. Perhaps a different strategy is needed.

Depression and panic attacks are mental health issues with treatment paths. And yes, I do encourage people suffering from mental health issues to go seek treatment without sugar coating it. Loneliness and "involuntary" celibacy are not mental health issues.

Certainly agreed up to the last point. I’m suggesting this is indeed an undiagnosed mental issue because these are marginalized individuals. There was a time when depression was simply self pity and hysteria was a woman’s problem. These voices were not heard until now.

And I don't mean to be punching down. I was an incel until and mostly through my 20s. I understand where these guys are coming from. And honestly, it's not even remotely as bad as what women and POC have to deal with on the daily.

It actually sounds like you don’t know where they’re coming from. But I’ll take you at your word, even if your language doesn’t convey much compassion. There are always people that have it worse. It doesn’t diminish the suffering of those experiencing it. And yes re: misogyny

I mean, being on the other side of being raped and stalked, and now adding "old" to short, fat and vaguely ethnic, you're right to say that I'm not as sympathetic as I probably should be. I cringe at how I treated women when I was "an incel". That's what deserves all the focus.
