    Absolutely amazing footage of a time long gone. The Jaffa Gate Jerusalem, the Great Pyramids in Giza and a stunning panoramic shot of The Golden Horn Istanbul Turkey. All three part of the crumbling Ottoman Empire and filmed in 1897! The film has been slowed down and colourised.

    Worth reading as always.

    Horrendous losses for the Russians. Also the killed to injured ratio is awful. Care of injured soldiers must be negligible and they are dying of injuries they would probably survive if serving in any western army.

    My grandfather Capt Aman Singh, OBI, IOM took this memorable photo at Paris in 1916, while as Squadron Commander of the Jodhpur Lancers during WW 1. See the studio seal at the back of the photo. Any one has any idea on this photo studio?
