"H.R. 2382 does nothing to reduce the Post Office’s $70 billion obligation to postal workers. Astonishingly, H.R. 2382 would wave the problem away"

My feelings on DOT's model of rolling out pieces of the bike network by relying on volunteers to pour months/years of their lives into convincing old guard community boards & councilmembers that we don't deserve to die is that I absolutely resent the living fuck out of it.

The vitality of American commerce could be better protected if legislators affirm that federal regulators, not states, have sole authority to set minimum railroad staffing levels.

Or are the security gains nominal? Is there a security threat that outweighs allowing people to walk in front of their representative assembly?

The Senate security is incredible. They are now routing people through the grass instead of allowing them to walk on the expansive paved area on the East Front of the Capitol. Heavy traffic harms grass more than stone. Are the security gains worth the damage to the grass?

This is an unfunded liability imposed by on a particular local government through it's poorly defined ticket exemption. It's fixable with Congress' help.

Astounding hyperbole given the 20 years of disuse of this spectrum. Outrageous, even. The claim is made even more galling by the fact that the proposal would dedicate more spectrum for C-V2X safety systems (may even retain some spectrum for DSRC!).

If the House of Representatives wanted to help the it should consider H.R. 2553, a bipartisan proposal with union support. Details on this reform bill are at

"Not paying your bills" seems extremely popular in Congress, and policy is a great example of that.

Is this because of: (a) Weak general postal productivity (b) USPS labor regulation on when mail carriers must return (c) Consolidated casing and/or existence of CCAs (d) Changing mail mix pressures (e) Lack of equipment to efficiently do the job (f) Poor local USPS management
