Tokenization of off-chain things trust-minimizes only transfer of title. Short of entangled proplets

it doesn't do anything about actual control of the actual off-chain assets; it doesn't even guarantee respect for the title. h/t @eric_lombrozo's tanks.https://twitter.com/brucefenton/status/992023735141101569 …

Nick, this is what my company is doing: the nasty legal/technical leg work to get those physical assets titles to be secure. http://mattereum.com it's the
@iang_fc (our chief scientist) Ricardian model with close attention to asset locks and creation of new kinds of property. - 1 more reply

I agree they are different. However, tokenized off-chain assets are much stronger than non-tokenized off-chain assets. It all depends on which perspective or anchor you have. Compared to cryptocurrencies, tokenized off-chain assets are quite boring. And that should be just fine.

How are tokenized off-chain assets much stronger than non-tokenized off-chain assets?
-
To ensure we're talking about same thing, I am using "stronger" as synonym for "better." Let me know if you're using it differently. Break fiat capital controls. True free market finds most accurate price. Greater pool of investors. Higher levels of liquidity. Easier to manage.
-
How do you enforce the link between the asset and the tokens?
-
The same way you enforce the link between a paper share and the asset. I don't like calling it "tokenized securities" for example, because it is really just a digital version of what we already have. Thats why I call them "Digital securities" usually.

@TheStalwart I think twitter is shadow banning you. "tweet unavailable." -
I can read it fine, but then again I'm probably shadowbanned.

wouldnt that change if more on-chain governance would be embedded ? You can allow the seizure (or release) by a court entity on-chain. You know, like that eternal dao debate in ethereum realms :)

That is true, but there are benefits for on chain currencies if tokenized assets exist. For example, collateral-backed stablecoins should be more reliable if part of the collateral is off-chain tangible assets.
