I’m not an advocate for communism, but I find it ironic that you fail to realize that the actual problem was the centralization of authority and ownership, which are hallmarks of authoritarianism.
Centralization is the classic way for ideologues to forceably try to scale what can't in fact be non-barbarically scaled.

Well yes, precisely, hence centralization of authority corrupts the scalability of 'communistic' or socialistic ideals, not the ideals themselves. Not highly opinionated one way or another, but Penn has a point.
