I’m not an advocate for communism, but I find it ironic that you fail to realize that the actual problem was the centralization of authority and ownership, which are hallmarks of authoritarianism.

Centralization is the classic way for ideologues to forceably try to scale what can't in fact be non-barbarically scaled.
-
Well yes, precisely, hence centralization of authority corrupts the scalability of 'communistic' or socialistic ideals, not the ideals themselves. Not highly opinionated one way or another, but Penn has a point.

E.O. Wilson was a great biologist. He studied ants. What did he say about communism? "Great idea. Wrong species."

Yeah, instead of designing grandiose solutions that run against human nature, and them@blame “human nature”, build systems that work best Given human nature as it is
-
Build systems such as? Blockchain does not change human nature, hence hardfork bailouts, centralized crypto exchange/banks, tether adoption for stable currency hedge avoiding U.S. regs while inheriting Bitfinex scam systemic risk, hashrate monopoly
-
Market based systems are more in line with human nature. Nothing to do with the blockchain, which is out of context
-
Centralization is nature's survival instinct. Centralization is life, centralization is love. Centralized atom, centralized blood stream, centralized society, centralized planet, centralized solar system, centralized universe.

Works great in families, groups of friends, churches. Largely because there’s accountability and everyone knows everyone. Works terrible on anything bigger.

But... but... surely it's not human nature's fault, it's just humans' fault for not trying the utopian idea correctly!

Indeed. It’s difficult (for me) was to communicate complexity and the notion that collectivism is a functional model in small groups, but in sufficiently complex societies the scaleable solution is its opposite—individualism.

but we could try
@leondanon@jelenagrr as our@is_petnica games scaled well on our networks -
Interesting... What games were they?

a pun on
@jelenagrr field: we kept playing all sorts of (mixed, cooperative etc) games at@is_petnica; a stable cross-generational community of trust emerged@sverbic -
This sounds interesting to me too but frankly I’m confused by what exactly you’re saying
