I’m not an advocate for communism, but I find it ironic that you fail to realize that the actual problem was the centralization of authority and ownership, which are hallmarks of authoritarianism.
Classic case of a utopian idea that sounds good to many, and can under some conditions succeed on a small scale, but is not socially scalable. Indeed. It’s difficult (for me) was to communicate complexity and the notion that collectivism is a functional model in small groups, but in sufficiently complex societies the scaleable solution is its opposite—individualism.
