Has there ever in civilized history been a major wealth transfer without a prior/posterior disaster (war or other)? If so, what is relationship between density (occurrance x intensity) of wealth transfer with density of disaster?

@Itnom Is on point - Continental Euro Politics is tricky. In WWI, Switzerland used Italy, England, & France to conquer Germany - As War Spoils, stored German wealth transferred to Switzerland. -
From there, the Old Germans lost their savings, & culture diminished - In retribution, Switzerland used Germany to unite the Continent against UK / US / Rus / China. As the world transitioned to Continental Political Systems.
