Absolute vs. astronomically probable finality is an important theoretical distinction (far more can be done probabilistically than absolutely), but probabilistic finality is in no practical way a weaker kind of finality, and calling it finality wrt settlement is hardly a "myth".

I think we're on the same page. Looking up at the beginning of this thread, I actually meant to direct "it's a myth" at a sibling post claiming PoS has finality and PoW does not.

Thanks, we do seem to agree then. Twitter made it look to me like a direct response to the OR. Ambiguous wet code in action. :-)
