Elon is solving the wrong problem. The greatest gains would come from removing and reducing the need for physical transport - which would improve people's free time, quality of life, financial position and be quicker, more efficient and would reduce the impact on the environment.

The most dendritic network we have is the telecommunications networks, about to become more so as IOT takes off. No one should be flying to business meetings. People spend 10 hours travelling and working to achieve 2-3 hours of productivity.I don't buy shoes from a physical store

In the USA, it feels this way, but only because we do not have federally funded high speed rail like other countries. Dendritic networks would be extremely energy intensive to build and interfere with land quite considerably.......
