Alas humans are evolved to get excited by violent security (thus e.g. most computer games). Locks, keys, etc. are more apropos but boring.
The "my fullnode is impervious to network attack and state collaboration of companies" is a satisfying self-sovereign, hard ecash guarantee.
In cypherspace we have that via encryption of data, communications and hard ecash, digital signatures, digital pseudonymous reputations.
PGP & snowcrash inspired muse about physical analog with similar interesting geopolitical implications, would be force-field anchored to black-hole level impenetrable force field, plus sender controlled teleportation gives effectively the physical sovereign individual analog.

Defense is destructive to the attackers resources. A lock destroys their time and energy. Bitcoin destroys their electricity and depreciates their hardware. Guns destroy their “stuff.” Embargos can be more destructive than bombing. Violence isn’t an indicator of justice.
Yes it is sad to see how much people are attracted by that war/military style language.
I agree there is a paucity, as you say, but there is very little about bitcoin that makes me feel secure.

"Rigid principle" works for me.
It's called "inevitability" Nick. Many peeps say that "the cat is out of the bag". I agree. What that will look like in 20 years... dunno.
Mystery, secret, puzzle. Someone knows something that you don't, so they get access to something you don't.
"Shield", "lock", & "invisibility" are metaphors for "non-violent" security. I protest the assumption that reactive defense is violence.
