Very true. Our wealth is based on the blood of terrible crimes from the past (not to talk bout the present ones).

Crimes don't build wealth. They at best benefit one party at the others’ expense. Only voluntary exchanges benefit both and create wealth.

All voluntary exchange takes place b/c both parties had the expectation to benefit from it, and more often than not both indeed do so.

Invasive/coercive interactions necessarily relatively harms one party. So impossible to tell if there was positive net wealth creation.

What are the costs for that protection? Law system provide some level but w hi costs. Privacy is often the first victim of too much security
