Are people really willing to run hastily written, untested node software that none of the protocol experts will stand behind?
Sadly yes there are many CEOs ignorant of the technology & reckless with other peoples' money & thus quite willing to run insecure software.

just like military practices, there is incentive to get paid to blow it up so you can be paid to rebuild.

unlike the military, bitcoin is a (mostly) free market where people are not forced to pay for any of this. it happens by free choice.

if the economy gets spooked by any of this, they can withdraw their support from exchanges, wallets, even miners. the customer is king!
