The examples you describe remind me of skeuomorphism.
Authority resemblance is about referring to preexisting conceptions. This is where the link with skeuomorphism is.
That's a fascinating topic
Interestingly, the pb of identification is related to the problem of identity.
It's easier to build your own identity if you borrow elements from another existing one.
