@NickSzabo4 Any thoughts on why Chinese printing press doesn’t have tremendous effect as Gutenberg? size, writing system or else?
2/ Chinese printed works were vast but rare. Euro books smaller but still too long. Internet works are actual length needed & everywhere.

@yang140 2 related theories: 1. N* as many typefaces needed for Chinese writing => N* up-front capital costs, 2. centralization => poor mkt
