The 1% figure is silly. Analyze actual attacks. What matters most wrt hashrate is depriving payors of incentive to collude w/ miners to roll back chain to double spend. We can have all 3; receivers of high value txs will wait more confirmations before depending on them.

I agree that 1% is arbitrary and even silly. Also think watching other attacks is smart. Will happen on BCH first. Watch what happens there and threshold security levels and then respond if necessary.
