The useful part the DAO idea is the trust-minimized smart treasury. Money pools & cash flows with a wide variety of possible dry-code rules. *Not* any sort of straightforward substitute for an organization.

Because of that it was idiotic to believe that the DAO was gonna work in the first place. I will always believe that the hype and the hack was an inside job, all of it. Such a scam, ethereum's original sin.
