"Myriad ways that nobody understands" So basically lobbyists have made it so we NEED these fossil fuels. Any engine that uses combustion can be redesigned and made electric. It's almost 2020. No more excuses.

No, physics and engineering reality, and the corresponding evolution in transportation and distribution of goods and services over the two centuries, along with having many more people to feed, have made it so we need fossil fuels.

I think it would be a good study. All those ppl that support no fossil fuels relocate to a state and put skin in the game. And if they succeed after 4 yrs then we know. If not then they can just shut up. I’ll even buy the horses for them to get there.

The poor horses would end up whipped and starved. Still a better alternative than subjecting hundreds of millions of Americans to a similar fate.

If these ppl really stand behind it. They have my full support. But first they have to prove to me it can be done. 0% fossil fuel living is a very big life change. But I welcome them to try.

the conclusion of mass deaths is ridiculous in context of the politics suggested above. maybe if they would ban fossil fuel altogether. But as the tweet was written it's sensationalism.

They did use the phrase "Fossil Fuel Free" which taken literally does imply an absolute ban. Granted the detailed list does not actually live up to that absolutism, one is still entitled to criticize the slogan as reflecting an ultimate goal and criticize its likely consequences.
