Taxing unproductive wealth seems to accomplish the goal of shifting the tax burden from “productive” to “unproductive entrepreneurs” in your paper. Curious how this might effect future productivity?https://twitter.com/fatihguvenen/status/1171825953775005698 …

Precisely. I am wondering how this is defined beyond ‘billions parked in escrow overseas.’ I am also inferring this opacity might not encourage “unproductive” entrepreneurs to be more “productive.” It may encourage them to be more cunning protecting the wealth they’ve acquired.

"Productive" apparently means "rush to find somewhere anywhere to throw your money at, forget about the time it takes for the rare opportunities you can take special advantage of to arise, or the time needed to find or research them."

I try and be open-minded. I realize I don’t adopt an egalitarian worldview and would like to help as many people possible. But this helping is a surgical exercise that requires insight into why some problems exist. The result isn’t to throw money at problems because they exist.
