What are your thoughts on a "benevolent AI dictatorship"? One intelligent enough to force human, and thus biased and corruptible politicians into always making smart decisions based on probability of success, historic precedents and simulations that would advance humanity.pic.twitter.com/taBoqqj8VM

No. For law-like purposes simple and predictable algorithms are vastly superior to complicated and unpredictable ones.

AlphaGo's algorithms are complicated and unpredictable to their creators yet amazing in their success. What if politicians had tools like weathermen that, based on probabilities, could lead their decision making without bias and corruption? These tools could eventually rule

Today they can't, I'm talking about a future in which everything already runs on blockchains and is controlled by AI. Maybe we are already living in one such simulations. Would they exterminate or keep us in zoos as catastrophic backups? The mind wonders...

Blockchains are not suitable for computationally intensive tasks, they are most suitable for executing simple rules. The laws of mathematics via computer science dictate this, highly unlikely to change in the future.

John Adams was such a badass—I love the preamble to that state constitution more than any other.

"Abraham Lincoln gave people freedom, and Colonel Colt equalized their chances." Can Bitcoin be written in the place of the phrase "Colonel Colt"?

The main counterpoint to this line of thinking are the thoughts of Franklin, Jefferson, and Tesla. But I'll interject with an aside - I was speaking with a Law Man in Gov. He is depressed. Lawyers are chronically depressed. He is sad for our country. He feels failure..

But as a man of law, the solution is more law. As a man of negativity, the solution is more punishing. His child is growing up scared. Law deals with preventing the bad, but it can not promote the good. Expression, Virtue, Morals are what makes a beautiful world..

Law, punishment, should not be capricious, 'the feelings of man'. But punishments minimal and 'do not's obvious. Good Law is not a maze, but practical, simple, common. The fault of many in Gov (and this man of law) is believing More Gov & Law can make good..

Which can go back to Moses vs Jesus, "Do not Kill" (neg law) vs "love neighbors" (pos law).. Franklin says 13 Virtues. But Tesla sums up best: 'Minimizing retardation (law), accelerating progress (virtues), & expanding mass (birth) - is the problem of human energy.'

Rule of law is as strong as the people maintaining it. Neglect will bring rule of law down.
