Such confidence in Bitcoin is splendid, but a 94,500 BTC tx tempts fate. If recipient can make that much from reversing the tx, they can afford to run a 51% attack for more than 40 days. Big if & very visible, but security here depends more on trust & less on the protocol itself.https://twitter.com/whale_alert/status/1169815776733220866 …

yes,so the recipient has to wait 40-50 days for confirmation.I agree with you that with the current market cap of bitcoin it is not very
-
efficient at transferring value of this size. This will change if bitcoin gets bigger in value.
-
Also it would take a further and longer period after the final confirmation to start to organise a practically deliverable attack. Add the risk of the attack being unsuccessful too. I don't believe it's possible, even if funded by a CB that has infinite Fiat.
-
It has already been confirmed 244 times... So 40-50 days became 10 minutes, especially at the outrageous fee that was paid.... i'd have sent for under 5 sat/byte.
-
So doesn't that mean that by the time you can deliver an attack it would be even more locked in and even harder to unwind?

Sounds like people need to discover the superior
#cryptocurrency that fully-globally-confirms, irreversibly, in under a second, for any amount from a microtransaction to millions. One day soon you'll be able to move billions on$Nano.#NanoIsFast#NanoIsFeeless#NanoIsSuperiorThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Nick, you're assuming that hashpower is just money. The confirmation time when the adversary is a nation with a money printer is... Calvin wanted to conquer BCH by renting hashpower on 2018-11-15. He couldn't. He lost miserably, having enough money. Hashcracy, not plutocracy.
-
It was confirmed 244 times already... 1 and a half days after propagation.
