Proclaiming virtue is not exactly evidence of vice. Hypothetically, if you're running a big org, and you want it and its constituents to behave virtuously, how do you communicate that fact?
You can for example point out that all humans are sinners, including oneself, and need to improve. "I'm starting with the man in the mirror."
