      Umm, no. "Don't immanentize the eschaton!" was a political slogan of Young Americans for Freedom during the 1960s and 1970s. They had it printed on t-shirts. The phrase was Buckley's paraphrase of an idea expressed by Eric Voegelin in The New Science of Politics (1952).

      I did a bit of googling, and it looks like Buckley was far and away the popularizer. Hard to even find a picture of the original young Americans t-shirts. Not doubting the group existed and used the slogan, but that fact seems like mostly a historical footnote.

      According to the internet, almost everything that happened before the internet is either obscure historical footnote or reduced to slogans more accessible than this one. Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea also popularized the phrase among some parts 1975+ drug culture.
