Reserve currency status can change, and indeed these days there are prominent central bankers in the U.S.'s closest allies trying to change it.
Assuming it does happen, it'll take decades, even Euro & Yen are piss-ant compared to USD in everything from payments to debt denomination. There's no asset on Earth with the simultaneous Yield, Safety, & Liquidity of UST. Especially Liquidity, not even Bunds & JGBs come close
