As for my family, my father had to flee Hungary for freedom in the capitalist United States because of communist thugs calling themselves "anti-fascists".https://twitter.com/aantonop/status/1162888512233975808 …

I grew up in Greece. My grandparents and parents generation kicked the fascists butt twice. I was 4 years old the second time. I guess it's our generation's turn now.

The good news is "Bitcoin is for enemies" -- Anton can't stop me from using it and I can't stop him. Unlike my grandparents' farm, with good key management no thugs of either communist or fascist persuasion can take Bitcoin property. (ht @pierre_rochard IIRC)

Ditto. My grandparents were Hungarian versions of what in Ukraine they called "kulaks": they worked hard & saved & bought a farm from a broke feudal family. The "anti-fascist" thugs stole it. When Hungarians rebelled against this kind of treatment, Soviets sent in their tanks.

People are too emotionally triggered by words. It is a conditioned response, not innate. Understanding one's own conditioning can help overcome this.

Many of us are triggered by communists who call themselves "anti-fascists" for extremely good reasons. They ruined dozens of economies. They killed over a hundred million people, and my father witnessed some of those.

tens of thousands of Chinese came to the west coast as refugees after having their land stolen and families murdered by communists. Americans don't know this, because chinese ppl don't feel a constant need to remind others of their victimhood.
