‘Person of colour’ is fine. ‘Coloured’ isn’t. Why? Because of the historical connotations of ‘coloured’. Coloured only restrooms (US) or No Irish, No dogs, No Coloured. Blacks chose ‘people of colour’, ‘black’, ‘African American’ whereas ‘coloured’ was imposed on them.https://twitter.com/MatildaSwallows/status/1159524850156953601 …

I see you’ve just about had it with the cultural Marxism Nick, and I commend you for that. I think it’s important for people like you to disagree with this kind of behavior because it gives other people confidence to speak out as well.

There's a great cartoon from thirty years ago illustrating this:https://www.berkeleybreathed.com/store/special-editions-and-vintage-prints/people-of-color …

Taking offense at the utterance of any combination of noises in any language is a sign of insecurity & fear that the label is fitting - people who are unfit to be educators & parents are adept at instilling said fears & insecurities.

Welcome to the euphemism treadmill, Nick. Try and keep up. It’s a simple matter of respect.

I disagree. You can't ignore them, because they never stop. Their goal is to manufacture shame and then browbeat you into submission and penury. The solution is to go on the offense, call them out for being filthy totalitarians, and use badspeak/ridicule to drive them craaaazy.

I agree, I just mean ignore the idiotic specific rules they are always making up and changing and foaming at the mouth about. For a "conservative" to be trying to each these rules is particularly ludicrous -- that is only "conserving" the last generation's leftist insanity.

We can start by agreeing that a color is not a culture. People from strong cultures don't identify as a color, whether it is black/white/red/yellow. It is impossible to have an intellectually honest debate when the conversation is grounded in connotations.
