Federal tax revenues alone in 2014 were $3.02 trillion. So despite the fact legal immigrants made up 13+% of the 2014 US population, their total contribution, including state + local, was equivalent to just 10.8% of federal tax revenues? Asian Math Man is a liar. Sad!https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1156740066745696256 …

I’ve done the MATH. In 2014, immigrants paid over $328 billion in taxes. Scapegoating them for problems they have nothing to do with and ignoring their upside is ripping us apart and distracting us from the real issues plaguing the American people. https://twitter.com/AnnCoulter/status/1156731734962126848 …

"The average legal immigrant pays (at absolute best) 80% of the taxes that a native citizen does while consuming 170% as much welfare as a native citizen, but maybe if I pay you $1000 a month, you'll shut up so we can continue to make every aspect of your life worse, forever"

Btw total fed/state/local tax revenues in 2014 were like $5 trillion, so if he's counting total instead of mere federal tax revenues from immigrants, 13% of the population only provided 6.6% of total tax revenues. If he's also counting illegals in his tax revenues, then just lolpic.twitter.com/HcqGyWCGZf

Discarding "This Is Who We Are" pablum, isn't the main argument for immigration an economic one? How does it help us, economically, if immigrants give less + take more than native citizens? And far worse: when the same is also true of the children + grandchildren of immigrants?

Add to that the frictions caused by language, cultural, etc. incompatibilities, even if immigrants had equal or superior taxpaying capacity. People are not interchangeable parts.

That's the thing, even if mass migration was economically beneficial to the average citizen, there would still be strong grounds for opposing it. But when the thing they tout as its major strength is actually a giant negative? WTF is going on?

Tech company donations, on top of his own background as a CEO in search of cheap talent. Perhaps he'd also prefer more East Asian food in the neighborhood instead of that odd and sometimes indigestible Europe-derived American stuff, but now I'm just spitballing.

The entire Cathedral pushes this line, but odd thing with Yang is his net worth is only a few million dollars? Like less than ten? But he presents like a billion-dollar Silicon Valley CEO. There's an angle where he's maxed out his natural talents + now seeking new strive upwards
