What if sleep texting becomes a thing with @neuralink or similar technology?
Will it recognize us sleeping or get fooled by our dream's instructions?
Will we have to turn outbound messages off before we go to sleep?
What if we forget to?

We're midway in time between this statement being completely absurd, and intuitively understood by all. It's very eerie. Part of me wants to read this sarcastically, the other not. My concern is how taxing on one's life will opting out be for people who value opsec.

It’s a Black Mirror tweet.

It borders on singularity theories. "Worst" case there's total loss of individuality and "resistance is futile", best case is what we're imagining isn't physically possible and we're over concerned. Likely somewhere in between, so how do we navigate that changing environment?

Assume it’s possible and prepare for when we must decide whether to adopt or reject this technology, recognizing that resistance, while not futile, will likely grow increasingly difficult over time, and accept the consequences of either choice, most of which will be unknowable.

This is why I sleep in a Faraday cage surrounded by automatic turrets.

oh god... i can't remember anything that has such polar negatives and positives to the extent that neuralink does "you will be able to access all of the knowledge world with near 0 latency" -
"your dreams will be turned against you and everything you love will be lost" -

One more thing to worry about in the near future. Your data is as sensitive as your bathroom or bedroom. You do not really want to share what happens there.

Sleep is also when we produce melatonin — a potent, oncological hormone which aids cellular repair amongst other things. If this interface is RF-based, that will interfere with its production + add to damage. You couldn’t pay me to have one near my head, let alone inside it.

Futurama 01:06... Leela: "Didn't you have ads in the 20th century?" Fry: "Well sure, but not in our dreams! Only on tv and radio...and in magazines...and movies. And at ball games, on buses, and milk cartons, and t-shirts, and bananas, and written on the sky. But not in dreams!"
