There's no sharp distinction between collectibles, in the origins-of-money history sense I was using the term, and money. Both used as stores of value and media of value transfer. More a matter of degree than kind of uses: collectibles generally had much lower velocity.
In a broad sense both have the same desidrata in terms of their security properties, for example unforgeable scarcity and trust minimization generally.
