I think most Shitcoiners are against Libra because as always they don’t want competition. As a Bitcoiner I welcome it. Ancap welcomes everyone, as long as I’m not forced to use it.

I thought that, but then I’d imagine they’d hire the same ppl or better and learned they still can’t get it. At least not in the tech timeframe. So they said fuck it, announced it and setup the thing in Switzerland just to piss the GOV off. They may regret it.

You are giving too much credit there. SUI appears to be the current path of least resistance. (also research Marcus’ background with the Swiss. May have played a role.) I’d say they also haven’t tried it in the U.S. because of their reputation.

I see it as too many resources, hired smart ppl, but management is too inpatient and doesn’t understand the financial space required boot liking.

I don't think expertise and pull in financial politics can just be hired -- its too easy to BS novices. One needs expertise just to know which experts to hire. Avoiding charlatanry takes a great amount of learning not obtained from and not applicable to their main lines of biz.

Bitcoin takes advantage of computer science advances that were after Hayek's time (and way outside his area of expertise) -- what he proposed was pretty good for its day, but would have required far more political support than it did or was likely to get.
