World's oldest gold artifact -- a bead found in nearby Bulgaria dating to c. 4,500 B.C.pic.twitter.com/YNXFzWjzjA
Not until the 4th millennium, i.e. after 4000 BC https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/egold/hd_egold.htm … which is later than the Bulgarian bead and the Varna treasureshttps://www.seeker.com/worlds-oldest-gold-artifact-found-in-bulgaria-1973826281.html …
Not according to the reference I just supplied. What is your reference?
Thanks. Contradicts the more specific reference I just gave which said 4th millennium BC. To dig deeper would have to find reference to specific archaeology, if any, of gold artifact(s) that date to 5000 BCE. Possibly your reference erroneously transcribed 5000 BP as 5000 BCE.
Actual science says that over 90% of the human jewelry artifact timeline (dating from at least 70,000 BP) was shell and other organic beads. Metal (which was first used for beads before it was made into any other kind of object) came much later.
Necklace unearthed in Romania, dated 3,900 BC, with copper beads directly plugged in as a substitute for some of its seashell beads and a complement to its remaining seashell beads. Spondylus (spiny oyster) shells imported from the Aegean. https://www.scribd.com/doc/47042191/39413089-Spondylus-and-Long-Distance-Trade-in-Prehistoric-Europe-M-L-Seferiades-CNRS-1 …pic.twitter.com/8HqPOD3fBU
