Isn't it more that tech firms are legal entities and thus controllable within a defined jurisdiction. Also, for smaller firms, laws can be drafted against a whole class or sector of legal entities. Isn't the point of bitcoin that there is no one central entity to prosecute?

Nobody knows. There’s a lot of old wallets that haven’t moved in years. Doesn’t mean they are lost but they could be. I’ve heard 4 million and higher. I know one guy who died with 10 -20 in wallet. My B-cash got lost at the fork and I’m sure lots of others were too.
