You are talking about blood sugar, not dietary sugar. Has as much relevance as saying "cancer cells utilize more protein than other cells so don't eat protein." People need to bring their blood sugar down. Cutting dietary sugar may be helpful, it's not a magic fix however.

Fructose has a low glycemic index. Sucrose's GI is middle of the road. Irish ate nothing but potatoes but were very healthy and robust, remarked by Adam Smith in the wealth of nations. Why jump to sugar/carbs as the cause of cancer and not overeating?
