More generally, the best way to sequester carbon is by fertilizing the world's ecosystems with their limiting nutrients (often NPK on land and iron & molybdenum in the oceans).

There are dramatic examples in Eastern Washington State where NPK-rich water runoff from irrigated & fertilized farmland causes the desert to bloom, multiplying the biomass and carbon sequestration per acre, likely by factor of ten or more.
