That's a fair point and I know not everyone cares about financial privacy. Yet, I think and hope that simply asking Coinbase questions about this will demonstrate to them and other exchanges that some customers actually care about their privacy.
Users have been telling centralized digital entities they care about their privacy since day 1 on the intenret. Not much has come of it. It's just way too easy to copy information, and it's just information about some strangers.

I get it, maybe some of us are fighting a losing or never ending battle. Does that mean we should give up? Or probably refocus our efforts elsewhere. I am guessing the latter.

The latter. Use or build tools that actually work, which means, when dealing with strangers on the internet, especially companies, that they are trust minimized.

Learn to code. Don’t be intimidated by it (it’s just logical thinking with syntax). It’s the most powerfully asymmetric skill one can have today. Code changes the world.
