The level of sugars is actually quite unnatural, from breeding for more sugars and from introducing it to populations whose ancestors did not have such sugar-rich fruits in their environment.

Yeah, most modern agricultural plants being barely viable mutant monstrosities designed solely for yield, taste and resistance to toxins we ourselves invented is every bit as gruesome as industry giants using our dinner plates as their garbage dumps.
