Some have labeled Tulsi as a "moderate," but this woefully fails to capture her political sensibility. She advocates left-wing policy, but her first principles are not traditionally "left." Temperamentally, she is a moderate -- or even conservative. So, difficult to categorize.

On foreign policy one would not go radically wrong to characterize her than as a latter-day Robert Taft conservative. Hard to tell where she stands on other issues though, vast majority of what one sees about her is war-related, so she comes across as a single-issue candidate.

Indeed she is a Democrat from Hawaii, so I too doubt that is her policy. Quite the opposite, I expect. But I'd love to be proven wrong. It's just weird to favor huge programs but hardly ever (as far as normal voters can tell) actually talk about them.
