- because custodial products are a necessary evil (custodial bitcoin users outnumber direct onchain users by 10:1 [my estimate]) - because custodians like cash app are far, far more preferable than companies which seek to directly undermine bitcoin

When the super-majority of Bitcoin users are 'custodial is easier' users, the real danger begins. Gaining consensus to fork in features that make Bitcoin easier to use, but less secure/private, will be trivially easy. How do we prepare? Set a "never hardfork" precedent?
