Any links for more information / tutorials on this (apart from that Nick's presentation from Scaling Bitcoin)? I'm actually interested in shortwave radio broadcasting for Bitcoin.
As far as I know no one else has done public work about sending BTC transactions long distance via radio except for @NickSzabo4 and @eiaine.
I know of short range, local attempts. But not HF. If you're aware of any please let me know, I'd like to talk to them.

Long ass random wire antenna might work for RX, ping when you have a setup
hmm i wonder if i could use my 1/4-mile electric fence as RX antenna. it has a grounding system and everything :)
