So you want to understand France? Just one quote: "the state is the fiction through which everyone try to live at the expense of everyone else". Most yellow vests just want a bigger piece of the cake. It has always been like this here.
Mostly they are just trying to keep a reasonable amount of their dwindling (thanks to carbon taxes, regulations, etc.) capabilities.

That's true, but it's only one side, they are also overwhelmingly in support of high taxation (for others) and want more gov money for them. My point was that bitcoiners on Twitter tend to see only what they're sympathetic with and ignore the other side of the coin

It's not the first anti-tax protest in France recently, we've already got the "pigeon" (small business) and "red cap" (against ecotax on the roads). Protests fail here bc french gov is very good at divide and conquer, it takes to some and gives to others (and vice versa
