The Yellow Vest was a leftist meme, but now the extreme right has coopted it. Leaderless hashtags offer less protection against hostile takeovers than traditional forms of organisation.

Wrong. It originated as a protest against leftist Macron's carbon tax and organically incorporated earlier protests against mass migration, while far-left academic and mass media types keep trying to convince each other and us that it's actually their movement.

The only thing wrong with that tweet is the idea that anyone in the far-left academia or media supports Macron. His carbon tax is regressive-right wing policy. A progressive carbon tax finances a dividend scheme or support to social institutions for the poorest %

Here in the U.S. far-left politicians like Sanders and A.O.C. are, with their many academic admirers, the most vocal proponents of carbon taxes.

A carbon tax is just fine, as long as it's "tax and dividend", i.e. all taxes are pooled and given back to the population on an even per capita basis - ideally per unmanipulable smart contract in a crypto currency. #LiquidReign

That's not what what any of these politicians actually implement though. Money they steal from workers goes towards free stuff to attract culturally incompatible immigrants who endanger their families and armored CO2 spewers to attack them when they object.

Macron gives the money he steals from workers to giant corporations and billionaires. Immigrants are just a distraction for the masses. The enemy are always the powerful, never the other poor.

And the earlier protest against Migration where protest against economic misery and elite capture, just misdirected at immigrants by a bunch of faschos around Steve Bannon.

Now you're just engaging in idiotic conspiracy theory. There is a strong, natural, and entirely justified grass-roots opposition to mass migration in almost every country in the world.

Just that there is no mass migration. That will come in 2030 or so. when 200 million Bangladeshis lose their homes and all coastal cities are underwater...

Guys, there is no "this movements". It's just a few bits worth of a hashtag resp. color of a piece of cloth. It means nothing in and by itself. The protest is real, and different people fight for different issues. They are united by decentralisation and nothing else.
