Those are the manners of your local culture. And apparently those of Twitter HQ, which wants to enforce their very local culture on the world. In my culture, and in most cultures of the world, it is bad manners to lie about biological sex.
So we end up offending each other. Social media is not necessarily socially scalable.

When you start thinking for yourself and don't wait to be ordered what to think and say, you may get this kind of antagonist behaviour towards you. Maybe the price we have to pay for our freedom.
