Here's my old proposal for this: https://unenumerated.blogspot.com/2006/11/raw-idea-to-avoid-being-cooked.html … Abstract: Get proper industrial inputs and propellant from Ceres, make refractive (not reflective) Venetian blinds, park at Earth-Sun Lagrange 1, humanity wages World War III in dispute over global thermostat setting. :-)https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1065993396395880448 …

Harvard and Yale scientists are proposing that we tackle climate change by dimming the sun. It sounds crazy, but according to their research, it could actually cut the rate of global warming in half: https://cnn.it/2R8SBO6

Blinds might be controlled, not by a vulnerable organization, but by trust-minimized smart contracts on a public blockchain via proplets: http://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/rob/Courses/InformationInSpeech/CDROM/Literature/LOTwinterschool2006/szabo.best.vwh.net/proplets.html …

Exactly. Trust minimization at the infrastructure level allows for trust maximization for a local outcome. If you don’t even have to trust the system, you can trust your transacation on it.

"...other effects of excess carbon dioxide such as ocean acidification and faster and differential plant growth... do not justify the vast costs of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Indeed faster plant growth is probably a major economic benefit." - Agree on plants.

I am vehemently opposed to participating in anything related to Earth's atmosphere. There is so much we don't know. Acting on our ignorance could have literally catastrophic consequences.

Direct physical intervention, especially something removable/destructible, makes far more sense than assuming CO2 is the only relevant factor, that no unidentified negative feedback mechanism that would stop CO2-induced warming exists, and that laws can dictate CO2 levels.

Gov would never go for a solution if it doesn’t involve increasing their power over the ppls lives. Sadly, many leftists believe govs care about climate change because they’re virtuous and benevolent lol

Co2 is responsible for trapping the heat and preventing it from reflecting as much back into space.
