but you should give permission on a per-app basis. "XXX app wants your xpub, OK?" -> "Yes" -> "Never ask me again for this site/app" is perfectly reasonable.
Sure, but also warn that it allows compromise of privacy and link to an article describing in what ways it does that and consequent risks to privacy.

Yes... this is true... even if most users don't read things and just click OK whenever a popup appears... having the notice there is useful.
