I will say this tho in this CEO's favor: at least he knows that Bitcoin is currency not a retail payment rail & bitcoin-on-Visa makes far more sense than a cryptocurrency's main blockchain trying to compete directly w/Visa. In that sense he is far ahead of most in this space.
That good knowledge sadly makes his nutty ambitions all the more dangerous for the rest of us.
I agree with your point but it’s not going to be Visa. The card schemes are legacy from the 70s not fit for purpose but over-survived anyway thanks to anticompetitive market dynamics. This is changing, there are new retail payment rails coming that support crypto settlement.
He doesn’t discuss layer 2, lightning payment network using bitcoin and litecoin. Visa is obsolete right? Only good to spend money you don’t have
