The Signal team has constantly shown to care more about the veneer/appearance of privacy rather than actual privacy. A perfect example continues to be the reliance on phone numbers.

Possibly. That sort of thing is speculation, but "my lying eyes" are not.
I haven't tried out Keybase and I suppose I still won't.

I’m not Nick, but Wire is strongly recommended. Wickr, Tox, Viber are all good too.
