This is completely unacceptable. If they can't make a secure desktop app then they shouldn't release one in the first place. Makes me question their security assumptions & priorities going forward, and you should as well.

The Signal team has constantly shown to care more about the veneer/appearance of privacy rather than actual privacy. A perfect example continues to be the reliance on phone numbers.
