      Alas the suggested language was "echnosignatures, such as radio transmissions" Radio signatures are a failed and ignorant way to look for alien tech. As long as SETI remains wedded to such religious rituals rather than being a scientific undertaking NASA is wise to ignore it.

      Optical and infrared spectroscopy. Artificial structures would have signatures extremely and obviously different from the natural galactic background.
