There's nothing more dangerous than academics unconscious of their ignorance pretending they know a lot and primarily cultivating a cult of followers who just do whatever they say. Even worse when they become tools for corrupt circles who use them as theoretical justification.

Socialism itself is not the problem, greed & corruption is. What the world needs is a complete political & economic revolution that focuses on the best humanity has to offer, while trying to minimize pain & suffering for all.
-
Sadly no. Greed and corruption are always present, our natures are reactive. If you change the incentives you’ll change the people. All socialism does is speed up the process of corruption and breeds resentment alongside greed. Socialism will fail every time, runs out of money
-
Most systems fail when they run out of money.

My sentiments put more eloquently.

Well thanks. Here's what that eloquence got me... a block. It's a shame, because I respect him in a number of ways. It's not like I was trolling him or anything. Oh well.pic.twitter.com/YlBX8yYrJ4

Fun fact: did you know that the definition of socialism varies between countries even in countries speaking the same language. The UK definition is different from the US. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/socialism …

Call me paranoid but "once praised by The New York Times as" always sounds like a weasel phrase.
